Suppliers’ Day 2024

Interview with Dr. Amber O. Evans
NYSCC Chair

NYSCC Chair: The theme of the 2024 NYSCC Suppliers Day, May 1 and 2, is Inspire. Innovate. Celebrate.

What are some of the highlights of the program?

As the premier event in North America for ingredients, formulations, and service innovations, NYSCC Suppliers’ Day is the go-to forum for the latest trends, scientific findings, global ingredients, raw materials and solutions that will invigorate formulations and accelerate beauty and personal care product development.

Our powerful theme of “Inspire. Innovate. Celebrate.” will be woven throughout Suppliers’ Day and be evident end-to-end at the Javits Center.  Inspiration will be leveraged from all sources to influence innovation in beauty and personal care. The NYSCC Chapter’s 70-year legacy will be celebrated along with all that the industry creates and has accomplished.

I am thrilled to announce the exhibit floor is sold-out with 560+ global companies showcasing novel ingredients, inspirational formulations, advanced processing and testing equipment, and more.

Dynamic areas on the expansive show floor will provide an enhanced attendee experience including the Innovations Theater, Main Stage and the growing INDIE 360° Pavilion with 16+-juried brands. The Technical Poster Presentations Showcase returns along with University Row.

New this year is the Inspiration Zone, featuring breakthrough innovations from worldwide ingredient and formulation suppliers curated by BEAUTYSTREAMS. This area will inspire product development teams to take their creativity and brand formulations to the next level.  Plug-In To Inspiration Charging Station will feature a look in the rear view mirror to the decades of inspiration spearheaded by the NYSCC, while the Head Shot Studio will offer attendees an opportunity to share what inspired them on the Suppliers’ Day show floor.

We also continue our nurturing and support of the next generation of chemists with the expansion of our Mentor/Mentee Program and the Future Chemists Workshop (FCW) with even more colleges and universities participating. Coming full circle, sci-comm influencer, Jane Tsui (@janetheChemist) will be the featured speaker at the FCW, and she was one of the first students of the program nearly a decade ago. The co-sponsored SCC & NYSCC Career Development Day will also be part of the event.

Our Awards Night celebration, “The Future of Beauty”, will take place after the first day of the show. This Met Gala-inspired event will be filled with experiential art, Afro Latin culture and Modern History performances.  The finalists of the CEW Beauty Supplier’s Award will be revealed and will be a glamorous evening for renewing partnerships, creating new ones, and acknowledging the important drivers of innovation that exemplify the core spirit of Suppliers’ Day!

How many workshops will be offered?

Which partner associations will be presenting?

NYSCC Suppliers’ Day is designed by the industry for the industry.  We work closely with leading trade associations that are committed to helping the beauty and personal care industry innovate and grow.  Thank you to SOFW for being our media partner on “Cosmetic Regulation:  Building Successful Compliance,” presented by PCPC (Personal Care Products Council) and IKW, the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association.

IBA (Independent Beauty Association) is spearheading our INDIE 360° conference program and co-sponsoring the INDIE Pavilion with CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women).

New this year is our collaboration with BIW (Beauty Industry West) a non-profit trade organization focused on bringing together today's innovators, entrepreneurs, experts and future industry leaders, who will be presenting California Dreaming in the show floor Main Stage.

NYSCC is working again with CACPA (Chinese American Cosmetic Professional Association) on the educational panel: “Development of China Skincare Innovation.”

We also are continuing our partnership with CEW on the Supplier’s Award for Ingredients and Formulation in their prestigious Beauty Awards program.  The eight finalists will be announced at our Awards Night Celebration on May 1st

Of course we work very closely with National SCC and our sister chapters across the country to promote Suppliers’ Day as well as recruit students for the Future Chemists Workshop. SCC-Next Gen is also co-hosting the Career Fair on May 2nd

Partnering with these top organizations, along with the strong media partnerships that Suppliers’ Day cultivates, are all essential in helping us amplify our message and promote the event to the widest audience possible.
