SYNTRAN® PC5620 from INTERPOLYMER, winner of 2012 Cosmetics & Toiletries® R&D award in the category “Best New Ingredient”

INTERPOLYMER strengthened its presence at the In-cosmetics 2012 in Barcelona with the launch of its SYNTRAN® PC5620. This novel acrylate film-forming polymer allows the development of water-based nail polishes. Our water-based technology eliminates concerns with regard to safety hazards, toxicity and VOC issues currently facing solvent-based nail polishes and allows the formulator to develop nail polishes that are compatible with water-based actives.
Laboratory testing has shown that formulations containing SYNTRAN® PC5620 exhibits quicker dry time and superior wear and hardness compared to competitive water based nail polishes. Moreover our test formulation provides superior initial gloss compared to water-based and solvent-based benchmarks.

Cosmetic industry has rewarded the innovation and unique properties of the SYNTRAN® PC5620 during the In-Cosmetics ceremony award with the 2012 Cosmetics & Toiletries® R&D award in the category “Best New Ingredient”.
