Innovation in Personal Care: Indena wins NBT award
Milan - May 29, 2012
The creativity, formulation and innovation brought by Xilogel® has been recognized by the judging expert panel of the Nutraceutical Business & Technology Awards 2012. The award obtained in the “Innovation in Personal Care” category is given to a research organization or company to honor the development of a novel active or functional component that combines innovative science with proven efficacy.
Xilogel® is an extremely well characterized polysaccharide obtained from the seed of tamarind. Clinically, it has shown potent hydrating, elasticizing, anti-wrinkle and re-densifying properties. It is also endowed with a unique sensoriality. Xilogel® has been developed as reproducible and safe ingredient of botanical origin for personal care and dermatocosmetic applications and its performances have been compared to the most relevant, effective and commonly used benchmark. The results obtained qualify Xilogel® as a green alternative to Hyaluronic Acid.
“We’re honoured to receive this award:” said Giada Maramaldi, Indena Scientific manager for Personal Care “The benefits of using Xilogel® are multiple and well documented. Thanks to our strong commitment to excellence we succeeded in developing this unique moisturizer of botanical origin from the seed of tamarind which is able to meet the request of a green alternative to Hyaluronic Acid.”
The NBT Awards, in partnership with Vitafoods Europe, recognizes and rewards excellence in R&D, marketing, business and technology throughout the nutraceutical, functional food and beverage industry. From ingredients, production and finished products to applications and business practices, the mission is to deliver a set of benchmarks to a global audience to achieve significant developments in quality of service, health management, research, development, and relationship management.
