Title: Genapol Complete: Clariant´s Sustainable Performer for Shiny Dishes and a Clean Environment

Abstract: Now that COVID anxiety is beginning to reduce, sustainability is back bigger than ever before. People are more aware of how they can affect positive environmental change. End-consumers are demanding action and looking for solutions especially in their own homes, many of which suddenly had to double up as office spaces in the last two years. Not surprisingly there is a growing demand for less harmful and more sustainable products in the household cleaning market. As the importance of green claims continues to rise, this trend also affects surfactants as core ingredients of automatic dishwashing formulations. At the same time, the popularity of all-in-one formats is surging. Yet, all these trends and end-consumer demands lead to challenges for manufacturers: 1. Switch to natural alternatives without risking performance drawbacks. 2. The number of suitable ingredients is limited if they need to comply with ethical labels such as     Nordic Swan or Blue Angel. 3. Products must enable a contribution to climate change mitigation without compromising on hygiene and cleanliness.  How has the cleaning industry responded to these challenges? It is clear that products with a focus on more sustainable packaging solutions are becoming commonplace. However sustainable ingredients with high performance for automatic dishwashing solutions are not yet easy to find. In this context Clariant is honored to present at Sepawa 2022 our new high performing, sustainable surfactant for multifunctional automatic dishwashing detergents: Genapol Complete.
