SILAB reaffirms again its commitment to biodiversity, especially by joining the Union for ethical biotrade (UEBT), a non-profit association that promotes sourcing respectful to humans and nature.

For many years now, SILAB has been implementing good practices in responsible sourcing. Brigitte Closs-Gonthier, deputy general manager for innovation at SILAB, stated: “SILAB has always considered nature as a source of inspiration and its main resource in raw materials. From this perspective, we strive for accountability, transparency and solidarity. Our aim is to positively and fairly influence each one of our supply chains. We are working very closely with our natural raw material producers and suppliers and supporting them to achieve greater sustainability objectives.”

This solid commitment to responsible sourcing is naturally one of the five strategic pillars of the company’s global CSR policy, as described in its Actively Caring program. In keeping with its value of independence, SILAB wants to head a collaborative strategy incorporating various partners and stakeholders. The goal is to highlight concrete progress in socio-economic and environmental markers related to supply chains. In light of this, along with its continuous improvement and sustainability approach, the company has today joined the UEBT as an official member with a mind to further reinforce its commitment through other partnerships.
