SGS today announced the acquisition of proderm GmbH, the leading provider of advanced clinical testing solutions for cosmetics, personal care products, dermatological drugs and medical devices in Germany. Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Schenefeld near Hamburg, Germany, with two additional locations in Germany, the company serves customers in the consumer care and pharmaceutical industries worldwide. As a clinical research organization (CRO) that conducts clinical trials from initial consultation to final report, proderm reported steady growth in the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021, generating revenue of approximately €13 million. The company employs around 140 highly qualified people, complementing SGS Cosmetics and Hygiene Services' global network of 45 laboratories and clinical trial sites in North America, Europe and Asia.

"This acquisition supports our strategic development by further aligning our global network with key TIC megatrends and customer requirements in the health and nutrition industry.
