Azelis, an innovation service provider in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients distribution industry, is very proud to announce it has won the “Coup de Coeur” award at Cosmetagora 2021 in Paris. The competition is open to all exhibitors at this year’s virtual show. Azelis received the award for the formulation “Time Dilution”, a water-free, natural based cream cube.

Organized by the French Society of Cosmetology in Paris, this year saw the 13th edition of the Cosmetagora formulation competition which is open to all exhibitors at this year’s virtual show. A jury of experts awards four prestigious prizes, divided into four levels of innovation: Gold, Silver, Bronze and the "Coup de Coeur" prize. The Azelis France Personal Care team scooped the "Coup de Coeur" prize this year with their innovative and sustainable formulation *Time Dilution”, a water free, easy-to-use, natural-based cream cube that meets all the requirements of today’s current market trends. This is the second win for the Azelis France Personal Care team having won the Gold award in 2017 for their D-Tox Magnetic Mask formulation. 

Consumers are constantly pushing for greener, more sustainable formulations that are easy to use yet still offer the skin care benefits they have come to expect, the new “Time Dilution” formulation is the perfect answer to these key market needs. 

Developed at the Personal Care laboratory in La Défense, Paris by Laboratory Manager Sophie Thirion, “Time Dilution” contains more than 98% of natural based ingredients and no water allowing the user to store the cubes in bulk and reduce the need for excessive packaging and the transportation of unnecessary water which in turn helps to reduce the carbon footprint of the product. 

Sophie Thirion, Laboratory Manager at Azelis, comments as follows: 

“We observed for several years that trends influence consumption patterns, particularly in the personal care market, and we have seen this illustrated in particular by a strengthening of marketing claims on consumer products. Natural concepts are constantly evolving and going further to meet the changing requirements of consumers. These specific needs can be met by combining innovations in naturality and efficiency with respect for the environment and planet while creating a product that is a pleasure to use and has noticeable benefits for the consumer.” 

“Time Dilution” is presented in an easy-to-use, water-free cube format. The user places one cube in a suitable bowl and adds a small amount of very hot water to the cube and begins the mixing process. Vigorous mixing with a spatula will completely solubilize the cube and cool the product. The hotter the water the thicker the resulting cream. After mixing you will obtain a white, smooth cream. Once at room temperature, the product is ready to use. 

Each cube is enriched with a range of natural based esters to bring comfort and emollience to the skin. Starches have been used to give viscosity and texture and the addition of an oil based Poppy extract helps improve the elasticity and radiance of the skin while protecting and moisturizing it. 

Azelis develops new formulations and concepts by specifically selecting ingredients that offer the best solutions to meet the expectations of customers and also consumers. In this case the concentrated skin care formulation was developed with more than 98% of ingredients of natural origin and without water. Infinitely variable, this concept can contain different active ingredients depending on the needs of the consumer while minimizing the carbon footprint associated with its use.”
