At this year’s SEPAWA, Swiss-based global mineral producer Omya presented solutions that score highly on both efficiency and sustainability. The company introduced mastered calcium carbonate particles suitable for multifunctional cosmetics, toothpaste applications and household surface cleaners with varying levels of abrasivity. The showcase was completed by a unique distribution portfolio of cleaning and care products, demonstrating the creation and versatility of all-round applications.

Omyacare® and Omyaskin® are ranges of different natural mineral particles matching decorative cosmetics, as well as personal care products. Based on a patented Omya technology, Omyaskin® particles are available in various sizes designed to support numerous applications. Omyaskin® delivers high efficiency in terms of coverage, sebum absorption and skin feel while, simultaneously, simplifying the production process. At the show, the Omyacare® Kit was presented, comprising prototypes for oral care and rinse-off applications. Both products introduce two grades of the range, Omyacare® 75-KP and Omyacare® 95-KP, which are both approved as Ecocert Raw Materials and certified with the NATRUE seal.

An ingredient specially designed for oral care applications is Omyadent®. Consisting of a core of calcium carbonate surrounded by a shell of hydroxyapatite (HAP), Omyadent® provides excellent remineralizing properties and repairs microscopic defects in tooth enamel. With regular use, teeth gain a smoother, whiter surface. Moreover, Omyadent® acts as a high efficiency carrier for ingredients such as flavors and antimicrobials.
