The Green Chemist's Handbook for Cosmetic Preservation

Today many consumers check the preservatives used in cosmetic products before they buy with the intention to avoid controversial ingredients. The number of preservatives listed in Annex V is shrinking so if everyone sticks to these materials exposure to consumers will rise. This handbook is to help formulators with the more complex task of developing protected yet regulatory compliant formulas with high consumers acceptance. It contains nine sections: introduction, natural definitions, cosmetics and microbiology, how to use the handbook, regulatory and green status charts, pH charts, Temperature stability charts, summary charts, and an ingredients section with 164 raw materials from 47 suppliers.
