How does roelmi hpc figure into the biotech landscape?
ROELMI HPC has since ever specialized in biotechnology and biotech production of probiotics and postbiotics.
A great example is the own production of Sodium Hyaluronate: ROELMI HPC has gone beyond the production of standard grade by developing the HA Tech 2.0® process, which allows for a Full Spectrum of different tissue-specific molecular weights, that act synergistically in a biomimetic manner, enabling smoother modulation of physiological processes than standard grade (single molecular weight) hyaluronans.
Full Spectrum technology consists of parameter modulation at each stage of the biofermentation process, where precise variations in temperature, pressure and duration are implemented. The resulting hyaluronan molecules are then purified to obtain a specific spectrum of HA.
From this exclusive biotechnology, two product lines based on second-generation hyaluronans have been developed: PrincipHYAL® for the personal care market and ExceptioHYAL® for the nutraceutical market.
Do you have any other develompment in the biotech area?
The collaborative prowess of ROELMI HPC 's in advanced cosmetic combined with deep probiotics knowledge from its sister company, SynBalance, has given rise to the remarkable EquiBiotics® line. This innovative ingredient range redefines the concept of postbiotic ingredients, paving the way for personal care solutions.
A specialized soft process enables the deactivation of bacteria while preserving the integrity of the bacterial wall responsible for co-aggregation. This technique also retains key bacterial benefits.
Designed with precision biofermentation, EquiBiotics® line is specifically designed to address targeted skin conditions, with a particular focus on intimate care and sensitive skin.
What are the special properties of equibiotics® ingredients?
L. acidophilus PBS066 and L. rhamnosus LRH020 are the precursors of two high-value postbiotic cosmetic ingredients (EquiBiotics®LA and EquiBiotics® LRh), capable of targeting specific requirements for certain cosmetic applications, thanks to their properties such as resilience, and adaptability. They are proprietary science-backed probiotic bacteria owned by Synbalanceand they have been primarily involved in the development and manufacturing of probiotics intended for use in food supplements.
EquiBiotics® LA emerges as a perfect solution for baby care, showcasing proven anti-inflammatory properties and exceptional moisturizing capabilities. It is anideal for soothing and calming skin redness. Its efficacy extends beyond addressing typical signs of sensitive skin, by influencing the skin microbiota, it helps prevent potential stressors that could aggravate sensitive and reactive skin conditions.
Recently, an additional clinical study has been conducted on infants/children aged between 3 months and 36 months old and results showed the ability of EquiBiotics® LA in reducing skin erythema in 77.3% of the subjects after 7 days of application.
On the other hand, EquiBiotics® LRh takes center stage in intimate care concerns and skin well-being, with efficacy tests demonstrating its ability to modulate pathogens proliferation on the vaginal epithelium. For both applications, the ingredient is supported by a comprehensive dossier demonstrating its benefits through in vitro and ex vivo studies. Recently, an additional clinical study has been conducted on menopausal women to assess the positive properties in the intimate areas. Results revealed that after 28 days of application, the active biotech ingredient can help rebalance the microbiota, promoting a state of eubiosis. Studies have also shown that within just one hour, the ingredient increases hydration in 95% of the subjects examined, while also lowering the pH of intimate areas, reducing the risk of imbalance. Further research has demonstrated improvements in additional parameters, such as a reduction in TEWL, decreased skin redness, and enhanced elasticity, positioning EquiBiotics® LRh as a valuable ally for healthier, more balanced skin.
Could you please describe your latest ingredient launch in the biotech area?
SeidoTech® Lux offers 360° care for the eye contour area, addressing multiple skin concerns with proven efficacy. Obtained through precision bacterial fermentation of upcycled Italian vine leaves, it integrates the power of natural Vitis vinifera L. (cultivar rubra) with advanced biotechnology, creating a science-backed solution.
With a targeted action on on puffiness and typical skin concerns in the eye contour area - such as brown and vascular dark circles, and eye bags, SeidoTech® Lux improves microcirculation by enhancing angiogenesis and reducing vascular dark circles appearance. It is also able to inhibit melanin synthesis and it helps to reduce signs of aging thanks to its anti-glycation effect on skin proteins, and protects against oxidative stress - for a revitalized, more radiant eye contour.
