Essential oils are compounds or oils, typically fragrant ones, that have been extracted from the flowers, leaves, roots or seeds of plants using water/steam or pressure. The oils naturally capture the plant´s flavor and scent or better say its “essence”. That is why such oils were called essential as they were thought to represent the very essence of odour and flavour.
Important to know, that an essential oil is a natural product extracted from a single plant species, but not all plants produce essential oils.
Essential oils are being used in diverse fields, often in cosmetics, in aromatherapy, in the flavoring industry and even in the pharmaceutical industry within the headline of Beauty and Health. Whereas Aromatherapy within the health sector, as a form of alternative medicine that employs plant extracts to support health and well-being is coming more and more into the game and is occupying a bigger portion of the market-share day by day.
Unique aromatic compounds give each essential oil its characteristic essence.
Essential oils are obtained through distillation (via steam and/or water) or mechanical methods, such as cold pressing. The way the oils are made is important, as essential oils obtained through chemical processes are not considered true essential oils.
Here’s a list of 5 most popular essential oils of our assortment and the health claims associated with them:

How to choose the right essential oils?
Many companies claim that their oils are “pure” or “medical grade.” However, these terms aren’t universally defined and therefore hold little weight.
Given that they’re products of an unregulated industry, the quality and composition of essential oils can vary greatly and only trusted sources shall be consulted to buy.
Keep the following tips in mind to choose only high-quality oils:
- Purity: Find an oil that contains only aromatic plant compounds, without additives or synthetic oils.
- Quality: True essential oils are the ones that have been changed the least by the extraction process. Choose a chemical-free essential oil that has been extracted through distillation or mechanical cold pressing.
- Reputation: Purchase a brand with a reputation for producing high-quality products.
Adler International GmbH in Hamburg has set itself the goal as a German company and member of SEPAWA to address the above-mentioned and present itself as a reliable source for Premium Essential Oils.
The selection of suppliers and permanent control of the producers in question, their training and constant communication on the ongoing needs and changes of the world market is on the very agenda. But last but not least to be the interface for professional marketing, sales and above all logistics.
A major concern of international buyers, especially when purchasing oils from “exotic countries”, was and still is the inconsistency in quality at higher purchase quantities, the failure to guarantee the agreed purchase quantities, contractual concerns, but also logistical difficulties. We have eliminated all this and much more with hard work and persistence and are trying to build trust.
The aim is, among other things, to be a focal point in the heart of Europe to ensure quality and communication and try to fill the very large gap between the culture in the production countries and the international buyers in an increasingly diversifying and competitive world.
