Alkemist Labs has developed a guidance document to help the industry choose third party testing labs, filling an information gap in the industry. Partnering with contract labs is a key part of meeting regulatory requirements for many brands and manufacturers so it is important that companies are well equipped to make this important decision.

Some of the aspects of the lab vetting process described include testing requirements, legal repercussions of inadequate testing, what qualities to look for in a lab, a qualifications checklist, the testing role of contract manufacturers vs. brands, among other aspects of the selection process. Industry experts Rend Al-Mondhiry Partner, Amin Wasserman Gurnani, LLP, and Len Monheit, CEO of ITC Strategy contributed sidebars.

“There is a good selection of labs that offer high quality services, not only ours.  Yet, for years I watched as brands struggled to evaluate labs and in some cases chose terrible labs with publicly documented quality deficiencies,” said Elan Sudberg, CEO of Alkemist Labs. “I couldn’t find an industry guidance anywhere, so we decided to develop one. We hope that this guidance will help the companies that want to do things right choose good labs.”

The free guidance document is now available to download.
