China is a strategic market for Cargill in many senses. It has the world's largest population. In the past 40 years, the economic and social development in China have made huge progress, which improved people’s living standards and also drove global development and prosperity. Cargill never stops investing in China ever since it entered the market in the 1970s. The investment focuses on many aspects to better serve Chinese consumers and customers.
 
As a recent example, Cargill selects Shanghai as its regional head quarter for its new personal care platform, Cargill Beauty, in Asia. Over the past 1 year, Cargill beauty has expanded its team fast with a frame of full functions from marketing, sales, product management and application in China. Now the new team is entering their new Beauty regional office including an application lab. After 6 months of preparation and construction, the 1st regional personal care lab has been set up at the state of the art, located at Cargill’s research and development food hub, Cargill One. Learning and sharing the expertise from food industry, the new application lab aims to better meet Chinese customer’s needs by adding Cargill’s sustainable, label-friendly and nature-derived portfolio.
