This deep-treatment hair conditioning mask is designed to be used once a week to moisturize dry, thirsty hair with STEPANQUAT Soleil, a naturally-derived conditioning agent made from non-GMO sunflower oil.

Procedure

1. In a suitable container, add Deionized Water and heat water to 65°C (149°F).
2. In a separate container, melt Phase 2 ingredients together (Cetearyl Alcohol, STEPANQUAT Soleil, STEPAN-MILD L3 and Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter) with mixing at 65°C (149°F).
3. Add Phase 2 to Phase 1 with mixing. Use a dispersion mixer to emulsify.
4. Begin to cool the emulsion slowly to 40°C (104°F).
5. Add Phase 3 ingredients in the order noted above (Tocopheryl Acetate, Euxyl K900 and Silky Touch).
6. Once at room temperature, adjust pH, if necessary, with Citric Acid, 50% Solution.

4 weeks at 20°C: Stable
4 weeks at 45°C: Stable
4 weeks at 5°C: Stable

Instructions for Use:

Apply to hair and let stand for 5 minutes. Rinse hair thoroughly with water.

Marketing Notes: BCI = 92. Total Biorenewable Carbon Index (BCI) was calculated only for the Stepan surfactants used in this formulation. Other non-Stepan ingredients were not evaluated. For further information on Stepan's BCI, visit www.stepan.com.
STEPAN-MILD® L3-G/MB can be used as a substitute for STEPAN-MILD® L3. Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate have a strong negative impact on the viscosity and are consequently not recommended for hair masks.
