A trusty counterpart to the increasingly popular shampoo bar, this solid conditioner bar is sulfate free, silicone free, and is flower-powered by STEPANQUAT® Soleil: a naturally derived conditioning agent we make from non-GMO sunflower oil.

Procedure:

1. Add all ingredients in Phase 1 in the order noted above and heat with mixing to 80°C (176°F) to melt.
2. Add each ingredient in Phase 2 to phase 1 in the order noted above with mixing. Increase the mixing speed to ensure proper dispersion.
3. Cool the batch to 60°C (140°F) immediately in order to avoid excess evaporation of water.
4. Adjust pH with Lactic Acid to 3.5 to 4.0.
5. Add Fragrance at 60°C (140°F) and pour batch into silicone molds.
6. Once completely cooled and solidified, remove the solid bars from the mold.

Physical Properties:

Appearance, as is: White, smooth solid
pH, as is: 3.5 - 4.0

Storage / Stability:

4 weeks at 20°C: Stable
4 weeks at 45°C: Stable
4 weeks at 5°C: Stable

Instructions for Use:

Apply to washed hair and rinse.

BCI = 93. Total Biorenewable Carbon Index (BCI) was calculated only for the Stepan surfactants used in this formulation. Other non-Stepan ingredients were not evaluated. For further information on Stepan's BCI, visit www.stepan.com. A dye can be added to color the conditioner bar.
