In April 1957, the Société des Chimistes Cosméticiens (SCC) was founded in Geneva, with Kurt Pfeiffer as the first president.
It was on August 2, 1957, when some of the most important representatives of cosmetic sciences met in Geneva for the International Meeting of Cosmetic Chemists. After the welcome speech by Mr. Kurt Pfeiffer, president of the Swiss Association of Cosmetic Chemists, one of the first speakers was Sabbat J. Strianse, then president of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists of America
