ERI (Electrolytic-reduction Ion Water) Indicates Antioxidant Activity Similar to that of Vitamin A, C & E, Protecting Epidermal Keratinocytes from Oxidative Damage

System Product Corp./Meiji Pharmaceutical University (CEO/Visiting Professor: Masahiro Okajima), Aichi Shukutoku University, faculty of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Health and Nutrition (Professor: Hiroyuki Yamamoto), and Nippon Pharmaceutical University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Molecular Function Science (Associate Professor: Tokuko Takajo) have confirmed that Advanced Water S-100®, hereinafter referred to ERI, which is used in cosmetic ingredients, directly eliminates hydroxyl radicals, one of the reactive oxygen species and has antioxidant effects in human epidermal keratinocytes. Furthermore, the results showed that ERI improved the cell activity of keratinocytes subjected to oxidative stress. This reaction is similar to the mechanism of the antioxidant effect of vitamin ACE (vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E), suggesting that ERI may have the potential to protect the skin.
