Basic Requirements for Microbiological Testing of Cosmetics

B. Fellenberg, B. Heinken, D. Melchior, J. Nussbaum

Microbiological issues play a central role in the quality assurance
of cosmetics. This requires appropriate microbiological
expertise and know-how. In addition to microbiological training,
this microbiological expertise can also be acquired through
professional experience, literature, further training and seminars.
Basic microbiological knowledge is most helpful.
On the homepage of the DGK (Deutsche Gesellschaft für
Kosmetik) you can find two new documents from the
group “Microbiology and Industrial Hygiene”, which provide
valuable assistance regarding the microbiological safety
and harmlessness of your products (https://web.dgk-ev.de/
publikationen-fg2/).
