Introduction

Microbiological issues are playing a central role in the quality assurance of cosmetics. This requires appropriate microbiological expertise and know-how. On the homepage of the DGK (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kosmetik) you can find two new documents from the DGK expert group “Microbiology and Industrial Hygiene”, which provide valuable assistance regarding the microbiological safety of bars of soap (https://web.dgk-ev.de/publikationen-fg2/). One of the documents is a shortened version. Here are the details.
