Abstract

Shaving Bumps (Pseudofolliculitis Barbae; Razor Bump, Ingrown Hairs) is a major skin care issue for shavers of all genders and racial groups. Over 500 million men and women are plagued by shaving bumps to differing degrees worldwide.
This article will show that the widely held view that Shaving Bumps are caused by “ingrown” hairs – wiry, curly hairs that curl and grow back into the skin” is not possible based on the structure of the Stratum Corneum contrary to what is claimed and published by many.
