Introduction

In May 2019, the inaugural “Healthy Bite” conference, welcoming International experts from industry, science and market intelligence, took place in Lucerne, Switzerland. Hosted by Omya, global manufacturer of calcium carbonate ingredients, the event was intended to provide a platform of exchange between science and industry for oral hygiene products. Omya, having been engaged in developig new products with external, highly experienced research laboratories and universities for several years, has observed an increasing number of enquiries from clients looking for new and exciting innovations to advance formulations. Such demand was the catalyst for the Healthy Bite event. About 50 participants from leading global companies, universities and institutes took part in lectures and a panel discussion, aiming on essential aspects for the successful formulation, testing and marketing of oral care products.
