As early as 1899, Hans Ziolkowsky, the publisher and owner at that time of the publishing house “Verlag für chemische Industrie”, was contemplating ways to promote young talent in the soap-making and personal care industry. Consequently, Hans Ziolkowsky decided to establish an “Exploratory and Teaching Institute for the Promotion of the Soap-Making Trade” using his own financial resources.
