Darmstadt, Germany, February 27, 2019
Merck, a leading science and technology company, announced today that their successful DermoCosmetics Forum goes into the next round. From March 19 to 20, over 150 participants have the rare opportunity to meet some of the top scientists and industry experts in the dermocosmetics field. Heading into its fourth edition, the DermoCosmetics Forum has evolved into an important platform both for the scientific community and the skincare industry.
In focus of this year’s event are innovative approaches to treat irritations of the skin due to exposure or changes in its microbiome. Keynotes from experts both from academia and industry will give valuable insights on the latest research in this area as well as other topics. The speaker lineup includes authorities like skincare consultant and facial massage therapist Dr. Katerina Steventon, Dr. Karl Lintner, CEO at KAL’IDEES Consulting, Dr. Cornelia Keck, pharmacist and professor at the Philipps-University in Marburg, and Prof. Stefania Motta, Owner and Principal of Unionderma and President of Italian Society of Cosmetic Chemists - just to highlight some presenters.
I am very happy that the DermoCosmetics Forum has evolved into the top-class international platform it is today,” says Dorothea Wenzel, Head of Surface Solutions at Merck. “Our unique combination of expertise in cosmetics, fueled by the scientific work and know-how of our healthcare and life science sectors at Merck provides the perfect framework for an event like this. I very much look forward to this exchange of opinions, insights and ideas.”
More and more consumers are realizing that the secret of true beauty is healthy skin,” says Beate Anniés, Head of Cosmetics at Merck. “This is a good reason to take a closer look at the science behind to develop outstanding products that will continue to meet the increasingly high expectations”. In addition to the keynotes, in-depth poster sessions, a tour through Merck’s research labs, and a market place with a variety of exhibits will provide plenty of room for exchange and new insights. One highlight is a uniquely designed interactive virtual reality experience of the human skin.
The Surface Solutions business unit is part of Performance Materials at Merck. This business sector comprises the specialty chemicals business of Merck.
