The needs of the personal care industry are rapidly evolving. Consumers are being more environmentally conscious and therefore seeking alternatives to EO, sulfate or 1,4 Dioxane containing surfactants. Additionally, the industry is pursuing such free-from alternatives, expecting possible regulatory pressure in the future. This means, formulators need urgent inspirations to use new natural based ingredients in reliable performing formulations. Looking for new surfactants, but with the same performance is time consuming, expensive, and a daunting process as there are several surfactant chemistries and numerous combinations out of those possible, each with distinct functionalities.
In this scientific lecture we will present our newest digital service on surfactants. We have systematically investigated over 800 different surfactants and their mixtures. We have explored their performance, sensory and thickening properties. Based on this, we provide high quality natural-based alternatives to EO, sulfate, and 1,4 dioxane containing surfactants. We will provide a live demonstration how the digital service can be used to obtain natural-based solutions to synthetic surfactants like SLES, Isethionates, Olefin Sulfonates, Methylsulfolaurate among others, without a compromise in performance.
Digitalization, scientific modelling, and simulation play a crucial role in assisting formulators to design the next generation of personal care formulations by providing novel and natural recommendations. Our latest surfactant based digital services are innovative solutions addressing several pain points of formulators in one step.
