Title: Green Secondary Cleaning into Household Detergents: BFS®-500 Series. Readily Biodegradable and Renewal Source

Abstract: Brenntag expanded the R&D and Innovation centre located into the Campus of the Barcelona University, offering lab services to Brenntag’s business partners throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), allowing performance tests of a wide range of products as well as the formulation development of cleaning products, focusing on new concepts and ideas for all categories of cleaning formulations from reducing the raw material costs to improving the performance of the products. Our clients will be able to react better and faster to rapidly changing market trends and demands that come with increasing technical and regulatory requirements, and to the more consumers’ sensitivity about the sustainability of the detergent that they use. Green Secondary Cleaning into Household Detergents: BFS®-500 series Readily Biodegradable and Renewal Source. A development of Green Secondary Cleaning Solution for Household Automatic Dishwashing and Laundry Detergent categories were carried out, showing a satisfactory performance level in-line with benchmark products. In a Household Automatic Dishwashing Gel formulation, tests run based on standard IKW procedure (water hardness and temperature control, enzymatic and bleachable stains, additional ballast soil, etc.…), show that BFS®-510 can keep under control the electrolyte scales with excellent surface shining. When formulating HDLD and testing performance based on AISE recommendations (dosage, water hardness and temperature control, defined greasy, enzymatic, and bleachable stains, additional ballast soil, etc…), we conclude that BFS®-520 is a very good green proposal giving excellent cleaning results when used in fabric daily detergent products. Enhancing the Detergents Total Biodegradability and Sustainability, BFS®-500 series add such benefits when optimizing formulations towards a greener scenario. Relevant impact will be very important into the Household Automatic Dishwashing Gel due to a high percentage level of this functional ingredients group is present.
