Title: Developments in the Readily Biodegradable Chelant Dissolvine GL Premium; Compatibility with Surfactants, Polymers and PVOH

Abstract: The latest development in readily biodegradable GLDA chelating agents is Dissolvine GL Premium (assay 55%). This is the only available GLDA product in the market with such a high active weight percentage which has the additional benefit of being non-corrosive.

The high assay is very important for sustainability reasons as the customer can use much less packaging and transportation and it also enables formulators to develop more concentrated cleaning solutions. Nouryon will present data on the compatibility of GL Premium with hybrid polymers; a combination that could significantly reduce the use of phosphonates. In cleaning applications chelating agents like GLDA are often used in combination with surfactants.

We will show that amphoteric surfactants, in particular, are highly compatible with GLDA and can generate concentrated formulations. In laundry and automatic dishwash PVOH films are often used to prepare pods and therefor the presentation will show results on the stability of GL Premium in PVOH compared to other chelating agents.
