Title: Beauty & AI - Digital Tools as an Opportunity for Analog Beauty
Language: German
Abstract: The beauty industry is innovation-savvy: While many industries are hesitant and uncertain about the topic of artificial intelligence (AI), AI has fortunately long since arrived in the beauty industry. Companies worldwide are using AI to work on beauty care options that are both personalized and easy to use. Digital beauty tools cover an enormous range, for example, they already offer software-based optimization of visually smoothed skin blemishes or wrinkles and the creation of selfies with a variety of makeup colors thanks to corresponding beauty apps.
The possibilities of AI tools go much further: apps or scanners have long since shown what is important when it comes to beauty care. Smart mirror makeup mirrors, for example, show how to achieve a better complexion. Using a camera, these AI-based mirrors scan the skin, give tips and tell you whether the skin needs more moisture etc. All measurement data can be called up using a touchscreen and documents the care results. Skin care thus becomes unique, individual, verifiable and optimizable. Skin analysis apps work in a similar way, providing advice on the skin‘s appearance and optimal care - with the aim of recommending individually tailored skin care in view of the analyzed skin age.
Tools are developed as „help for self-help“ supporting users in taking better care of their skin. The acceptance and target group of AI-based cosmetic tools is growing. Customers who have too often chosen the wrong beauty products are becoming more demanding. Customers who want to achieve maximum results in a short time are becoming more impatient. Customers who like to invest time and money in their beauty will be more willing to experiment. AI-based beauty tools meet all these demands of a target group whose expectations are otherwise no longer so easy to satisfy.
