abstractabstractThe moisturizing performance of Gmoist® Sea-Gel was evaluated based-upon 14 healthy volunteers. It was found that skinmoisture content markedly increased and TEWL effectively decreased after Gmoist® Sea-Gel applied for 7d. Then usingreal-time fluorescence quantitative PCR technology, HaCaT cells were cultured with Gmoist® Sea-Gel to study six genes expressionlevel related to skin hydration and barrier function. Results showed Gmoist® Sea-Gel significantly promoted the INV,TG-1, FLG and CASP-14 mRNA’s expression after 24 hour’s treatment. Gmoist® Sea-Gel can upregulate cornified cell enveloperelated genes expression, promote the degradation of filaggrin into natural moisturizing factors to strengthen skin hydrationand barrier function.
