Lignovations, a startup specializing in sustainable ingredients from lignin, has won the prestigious 2024 in-cosmetics Global Award in the Green Ingredient category. The award ceremony was held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris, on 16th April 2024.

The panel of 40 experts from leading organizations, including Kenvue, Ecovia Intelligence, Unilever, Coty, Haleon, and more, evaluated 83 shortlisted entries across various categories. LignoGuard® Aqua 20, an eco-friendly multifunctional cosmetic ingredient made from upcycled lignin, won the bronze award in the Green Ingredient category.

LignoGuard® is revolutionizing the beauty industry with its bio-derived functionalities, including strong SPF boosting, antioxidant, and emulsion stabilizing properties.

Victor Tibo, Head of Business Development of Lignovations, expressed his pride in the award and noted the huge interest Lignovations received during the in-cosmetics fair, indicating the growing need for upcycled, natural, and multifunctional ingredients. "We are thrilled to receive this award, which recognizes our commitment to sustainable cosmetic ingredients and their enormous potential in the beauty industry," said Tibo.

The introduction of LignoGuard® offers an impactful solution for both manufacturers and brands seeking to improve the performance and sustainability of their skin care products. The sunscreen market, in particular, has been experiencing challenges as consumers seek products aligned with their environmental values.

In addition to the in-cosmetics Global Award, Lignovations also won the BSB Innovation Award in the Natural Ingredients category during a side event in Paris.
