DGK (German Society for Applied and Scientific Cosmetics) and IKW (The German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association) are pleased to announce their 9th annual seminar for cosmetic safety assessors, in collaboration with the HPCI (Home and Personal Care Ingredients) Conference and Exhibition in Warsaw. This event, scheduled to take place on 27 September 2023, will bring together industry experts, safety assessors, and professionals from the cosmetics sector to explore crucial topics related to product safety and sustainability.

The DGK/IKW Safety Assessor Certificate Programme, comprising seven constantly evolving advanced training courses, serves as the foundation for professionals seeking to excel in cosmetic safety assessment. In addition to these courses, participants are required to attend 5 practical seminars over a span of 5 years to earn the prestigious "DGK Safety Assessor" certification.

It has been a longstanding tradition for DGK and IKW to host one of these seminars annually in conjunction with the HPCI Warsaw event. This collaborative effort has allowed DGK and IKW to engage with colleagues and peers from Poland, including the Polish Association of Cosmetic and Detergent Industry (PACDI), the Polish Union of the Cosmetics Industry (PUCI), and the Polish Society of Cosmetic Scientists (PSCS).

The focus of this year's seminar, the 9th edition, will be on the subject of cosmetics packaging and ensuring product safety when using recycled materials. With sustainability at the forefront of the cosmetics industry's agenda, addressing the challenges of sustainable packaging materials and practices is paramount.

In addition, the seminar will delve into the industry's ongoing challenge of finding non-alternative methods to demonstrate product safety. The keynote speech will center on this pivotal issue, providing attendees with valuable insights and strategies to navigate this evolving landscape.
